Project Description

Hacienda Circle, Orinda

Residential, Remodel, Reconfiguration
A massive central fireplace divided this five-bedroom, four-bath mid-century Orinda ranch into a warren of bedrooms and dark, narrow halls. Warrens are great for rabbits, but for the family at Hacienda Circle, we removed the fireplace and reconfigured bedrooms to create a bright, sweeping interior, featuring a central lounge that welcomes gatherings both large and small. False beams over the kitchen unify the new space with the original design. A barn door separates the playroom from the entertainment area to keep common areas clear. Clean, beautiful spaces for dining, bed and bath give everyone a place of their own.

We wanted someone with design sense and practicality to modernize our home for family living. With Rebecca it was obvious that she understood what we wanted.”– Jeremy Diessener, Orinda
